Week Beginning: 07/11/16

The first week we completed our plan for the storyboard as we were making the preliminary tasks, through out this week we had also found an opportunity to film all of the shots that we had needed as a group. We later individually edited the video to challenge ourselves and learn how to edit using I movie so we would know how to use a basic editing software. I later analyzed my preliminary task which allowed me to pick up on the mistakes that I had made so I could avoid those mistakes in future.

Week Beginning: 14/11/16

 During the half tern holiday we were assigned to create a studio name and a logo for the studio that we would name ourselves. I created two logos and two names for what I wanted our group to be known as and I came up with “Ember Productions” and “Supernova Studios”. As a group we came together and had a meeting and decided on which logo was the best and which one would suit us as a studio. Towards the end as a group we decided that my logo the “Supernova Studios” was very unique and would suit the type of movies that we would release. We put Sonali in charge of creating all the accounts for Super Nova studios that would help us throughout the course such as Blogger.

Week Beginning: 21/11/16

 This week we tried to film our film opening we were really struggling to choose a film opening that would be easy to recreate and we finally decided on the fault in our stars, we began shooting but once we got to editing we realized how bad the shots were and how off time the video was to the original film opening. Because of this I and Zeel decided to recreate the opening of I origins which was much simpler to do and easy to recreate, Daniella and Sonali weren’t available to help us create the remake video we ended up using. I helped Zeel with a few camera shots and acted as an actor within the video and she edited the final remake video.

Week Beginning: 28/11/16

We had to analyze our shot by shot remake and talk about "what went well" as well as "even better if" This would potentially help us in the future by picking out the mistakes that we made so that we don’t do the same mistakes or if we run into those mistakes we know how to handle them. As a group we started one of our tasks where we had to state the purpose of a film opening however when analyzing two different thriller/Crime films the films I had chosen to analyze were Legend and Fast and Furious 7.

Week Beginning: 5/12/16

Throughout the week we had planned to create a Target Audience profile which was A Day in the Life video which I was the lead actor in, this was because I was part of the target audience I met the criteria that our target audience had in terms of age and my interests. After we filmed the shots at Ealing Broadway I had to go home and film myself acting out things I would do on a daily basis, some of these shots were hard to recreate because I had to film myself without a tripod.

Week Beginning: 12/12/16

We decieded to do a vox pop to find out more about our target audience I helped Zeel create the video by being the cameraman which helped me practice and learn how to use the camera. Throughout this week I also tried to do some research into what cameramen do and what skills they need to know to be able to create the best video they can. I took part in a small game our teacher had planned had “The Random Story Game” with my group which consisted of us thinking of a plot in time conditions. We were given a location, a prop and a setting and we had to come up with a plot this was very useful because it helped me think outside the box.

Week Beginning: 19/12/16

This week we had to come up with our own individual stories and pitch them to the rest of the class which then the class would give us feedback through socrative. My film was called "Mirrors" As a group we all had to compete in order to see who’s films was liked the most by the rest of the class in the end we decided to follow through with Daniellas idea.

Week Beginning: 09/01/17

Throughout the week we were annotating several different film opening scripts as well as analyzing them from my roles point of view as the cameraman. We also had our Greenlight meeting where we were given the chance to pitch our scrip to the class and gain feedback from them in regards to how possible and how much our story represents the genre that we have chosen (Crime/Thriller).

Week Beginning: 16/01/17

As a group we broke down scripts both in groups and individually to get the details and see exactly how a script is put together and how it is put together. We watched an extract called Jigsaw and answered questions about it as a group.

Week Beginning: 23/01/17

This week I was given the task of editing the Day in the Life video as our original video got taken down because of a copy right claim for using Drake’s Hotline Bling soundtrack. After this, Zeel and I created a set survey which would allow us to get feedback from our audience in regards to what they are looking for in a film opening and in a crime thriller.

Week Beginning: 23/01/17 This week Daniella and I completed all the script read through and uploaded any missing work. Furthermore, I had helped Ritik edit the Day In The Life and upload it. In order to ensure our film opening came out the way it did, I did some test shoots and gathered some test footage. In addition, I created a brochure as I took on board two roles as editor and Producer. This is also the week where we had several modifications and changes made to the script until we had one final script ready. After this, Ritik and I created online forums where several people had completed the forums in order to let us know their opinions about the film giving us rich data about our audience and taking on board their feedback I initiated any proposed changes to the group whom them took a decision collaboratively.

Week Beginning: 30/02/12

 This week consisted of Zeel hunting down people to audition for the cast and role of our actors in the film .I was there to help Zeel by filming the footage for her and helping her by giving advice on things she should make them do.

Week Beginning: 13/02/17

Zeel and I went on and did a test shoot so that we knew how our shots would come out for the final film opening. Zeel and I used VirtualDJPro to mash up several royalty free songs to create a final soundtrack that we later used for our final video. Daniella and Sonali couldn’t make it one day when we went to get establishing shots. Zeel and traveled to two of the locations that we had chosen which were Madison Roof Top Bar and Tate Modern Viewing Deck, throughout the day Zeel was telling me what to do and where to go I was in charge of the camera and filming the shots.

Week Beginning: 27/02/17

This week me and Zeel sat down and went through the clips that we had recorded to make sure that they were good enough or filmed well. Unfortunately some of the shots weren’t done so well which meant that Zeel had to go home and recreate the same shots by herself.

Week Beginning: 13/03/17

This week after Zeel had finished with the transition cut she handed over the files to me so I could add the special effects she told me what she wanted and how she wanted to look so I followed her instructions and created what she envisioned. I had more experience with editing so after the transition cut I took over.

Week Beginning: 20/03/17

This week we recorded Zeel narrating the voiceover for the film opening and added Foley sounds to the video to create a more life full and realistic video that would create a sense of realism. I helped add the credits and put the audio in tune with the video to make it sync with the visuals. I also started on my evaluation questions and tried to be as creative as I possible so I created a song using an app.

Week Beginning: 27/03/17

 This week was all about making final changes to our blogger and making sure that all the work was up to date and posted. I created posters and other merchandise as well as a website and a game to represent my evaluation question in a creative way.
